About Day Camp

For the times you can't be there yourself, it is reassuring to know the YMCA of West San Gabriel Valley supports your efforts to ensure your child's healthy development. For more than 80 years, the YMCA has been providing an after school quality program for families of Alhambra, Rosemead, Monterey Park, and San Gabriel.

Our experienced staff is dedicated to meeting the physical, emotional and intellectual needs of your child in a structured and nurturing environment. Parents who enroll their children in YMCA Afterschool Day Camp enjoy the confidence of knowing that their children are safe and engaged after school.

7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Your child will always have something fun and exciting to do with us! We’ve designed a program to provide educational, health/fitness and recreational activities. Planned projects that are fun, challenging and developmentally appropriate for each of our program participants.

YMCA Summer Camp offers a variety of fun-fulfilled activities:

  • 10 secure computers
  • Tutors
  • Homework
  • Activities or Free time
  • Basketball Court
  • Indoor Swimming pool 87 year round
  • Weightroom/ Gym
  • Snacks
  • Role modeling/ Mentoring Staff
  • Motivational Speakers (Topics vary)
  • Weekly Field Trips
Curriculum

YMCA Curriculum has a strong foundation. YMCA Afterschool Curriculum is based upon the Mission of the YMCA. Our Afterschool Curriculum includes Core Components – Homework support, Fitness & Nutrition, Arts & Crafts – that provide the broad categories for daily activities and projects. Our Afterschool Curriculum also integrates four Core Elements – Social Competence & Personal Development, Character Education, Literacy, and Diversity & Cultural Awareness.
