Participation in the YMCA health
and fitness programs offer opportunities for friendship and community,
a sense of well-being, self-confidence, and improved mental abilities
and cognition -- not to mention the obvious benefits of healthy hearts,
lungs, bones and muscles.
The YMCA of West San Gabriel Valley believes exercise and health education
are important for people of all ages, incomes and abilities.
Adult health & wellness includes personal fitness, exercise for beginners,
weight management, and group exercise, e.g. step aerobics, yoga, sculpt
& tone on exercise ball, circuit training, tai chi, kick boxing, martial
arts; muscle conditioning, silver sneakers (both land and aquatics),
senior shape-up, senior fitness and other fitness-related activities
(line dancing; zumba).
